At Dovetail Builders, Inc. we don't see building green as a new trend to follow, or a market segment to chase, but as an extension of our history.  For over 15 years we have looked toward the future and strive to produce high-performance, efficient homes, always maintaining a respect for the materials we use and the environment we produce.  We have piloted new products and approaches to improve the construction process, including advanced ventilation techniques, the integration of solar design and solar panels, planted roofing systems, and even concrete home construction.  In 2002, we built our first aggressively green home, featuring geothermal HVAC, photovoltaic panels, solar hot water and pool heating, as well as several other strategies.  It is common to find one of our homes on either an AIA or National Solar Tour.  In fact, one of our projects was recently certified LEED Platinum by the USGBC, making it the first LEED Platinum home in the City of Houston!!  While we are very proud of these achievements, we also look forward to sharing our experience and passion with future clients.
